To prevent anomalous events of equipment and structures in a spent fuel pool from occurring, it is essential to comprehend overflow of water and fluid pressure caused by sloshing. For this purpose, it is necessary to quantitatively evaluate turbulent dissipation near water surface and inner structures instead of an empirical value which depends on size of each pool. In this research, we test the efficacy of turbulence models by performing numerical simulation of dam break phenomenon and sloshing in a rectangular pool to evaluate turbulent dissipation based on action mechanism. As a result, we demonstrated that numerical heights by Reynolds stress model and Large Eddy Simulation are in well agreement with experimental value.

We explain one theme "Meteorological model of a local scale atmospheric flow and uniting analysis of the CFD model" of feature project "Development and application of the next generation weather model who centers on WRF" of academic society magazine "Flow" by the request of the Japanese fluid mechanics association. In this text, the problem and the view that should be examined when a local scale atmospheric flow by the both models' uniting is simulated about LES analysis of the turbulent boundary layer flow that develops under a realistic rough degree form by reproducibility and CFD model of the wind speed fluctuation that originates in the microindentation of the weather disturbance by making of the meteorological model a high resolution are described.

The lattice Boltzmann method for one-component two-phase fluid is applied to the simulation of the droplet creation in the horizontal stratified two-phase flow. It is observed in several flow states that the droplet tears from the interface wave. The dimensionless numbers that characterize the flow state are also measured during the simulations. After checking the influence of the lattice length and width to the simulation result, the relation between the droplet creation and the measured dimensionless numbers is compared with the inception criteria of the droplet creation that was proposed on the basis of experimental data by Ishii and Grolmes. It was found that the simulation results are included in the devitation of experimental data from the correlation of Ishii-Grolmes.
